BSA-UIUC arranged a protest showing solidarity with the student protests and citizens of Bangladesh in their fight for civil liberties, democracy, and justice. Since July 1, 2024, students across Bangladesh have protested an unjust quota system in the Civil Service that unfairly favors regime supporters, but the government responded brutally with armed troops against unarmed students, leading to over 600 deaths. We, the Bangladeshi students at institutions all over the USA, signed the statement to condemn the atrocities against Bangladeshi students and citizens by the government. The statement has been prepared and reviewed by approximately 150 Bangladeshi Students Associations (BSAs) in the USA.
